Preserving the Heart of a City

The 10th Annual Historic Downtown Cleveland Luncheon Forum is scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center.  This year’s Annual Luncheon speaker is the Honorable Joseph P. Riley, Jr., Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina.  Mayor Riley’s presentation is entitled “Preserving the Heart of a City.”

Individual tickets are $65 per person.  Corporate Table Sponsorships are $1500.  Reservations can be made by calling 216-344-3937.

Proceeds from the Annual Luncheon benefit Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation, PlayhouseSquare District Development Corporation and the Historic Warehouse District Development Corporation.

Take a Hike Tours

The 2013 Take a Hike tours kick off May 15th through September 15th.  Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the Take a Hike program offers five, free, guided, walking tours each week of the Gateway District, Warehouse District, PlayhouseSquare, Canal Basin Park in the Flats and the Civic Center in Downtown Cleveland.  Take a Hike tours feature actors and actresses portraying important Clevelanders from the past.  You may “meet” John D. Rockefeller, Garrett Morgan, Frances Payne Bolton, Alan Freed and others while exploring your city in a whole new way.

Over 10,000 people have enjoyed a Take a Hike tour during the last four years.  Join in the fun, and learn what makes Cleveland unique and fascinating.

Take a Hike is presented by Dollar Bank and supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
