The award-winning Take a Hike program, presented by Dollar Bank, has kicked off for the season, offering five, free, guided walking tours every week now through September 16th of the Gateway District, Warehouse District, Civic Center, Playhouse Square and Canal Basin Park. Each tour covers the history, culture, interesting trivia and future plans of the neighborhoods, and each tour features actors portraying important Clevelanders from the past. Admission is free. Donations are encouraged to help match grants and fund future tours. The complete tour schedule can be found here.
Yes, there will be a Warehouse District tour on Saturday, May 23rd and a Canal Basin Park tour on Sunday, May 24th of Memorial Day weekend.
The program is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. The tours also receive generous support from Ohio & Erie Canalway and Downtown Cleveland Alliance.
