Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation is pleased to share a message from Karen Gahl-Mills, Executive Director of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. HGN’s Take a Hike program is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.

A message from CAC:

Dear Friends,

I am pleased to share with you Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s 2012 Report to the Community, which details stories and data showing the positive impact of CAC’s investments in our community. To view the report, as well as videos highlighting the work of three of our cultural partners, please visit cacgrants.org/report.

Since being created by voters in 2006, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture has invested more than $95 million in 208 arts and culture organizations in Cuyahoga County. This report illustrates that, by investing in arts and cultural programs and organizations, CAC enriches our quality of life, enhances education for learners of all ages, and supports economic opportunities for the region.

In short, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is making a difference for our community. We do this by:

enriching community by improving our quality of life. In 2011, CAC-funded arts and culture organizations served more than 6.1 million residents and visitors, with 50 percent of admissions free.

enhancing education for people of all ages, from pre-K to grade schools to senior centers. In 2011, CAC-funded organizations served more than 1.4 million children.

contributing to our local economy. In 2011, CAC-funded organizations supported a workforce of nearly 9,000 jobs, and for every $1 CAC invested in arts and culture, nearly $20 was pumped back into our economy.

Please share this report with your colleagues and friends, and help us spread the word about the impact that these public dollars are having on our community. Together, we are making our community a better place to live, work and play.

Yours sincerely,

Karen Gahl-Mills

Executive Director
